On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Astor Piazzolla’s death, Daniel Rosenfeld pays tribute to the creator of the tango nuevo.
A major composer of the 20th Century, Astor Piazzolla broke the codes of the traditional tango and had that popular music of Argentina usually played on the dancing floors of little towns propelled into the concert halls all over the world.
With unpublished personal archive and recordings of Astor Piazzolla’s voice as well as his children’s interviews and records, this documentary film gives the portrayal of a complex artist who passed away on July 4, 1992.
