His subtle, introvert improvisations and his clear, vibratoless trumpet playing have shaped generations of jazz musicians. Many of his compositions are standards to this day.
As a the head of the band, Miles Davis always had a fine sense for the qualities of his fellow musicians. The band marked the beginning of talents such as Keith Jarrett, John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea and Joe Zawinul.
