Like the "Doctors Without Borders", the "Clowns Without Borders" go to the crisis areas of the world to help people there - their medicine is humour, humanity, and the joy of living.
The film accompanies four German members of "Clowns without Borders" on their journey through Iran in the form of a road movie. The clowns Susie, Toni, Matthias and Monika visit institutions where they hope to bring children fun and happiness - hospitals and social centres, orphanages, kindergartens, as well as streetkids on public squares and streets in the country. This is where they perform in front of the children, make them and the adults laugh and thereby also tell them: "We have not forgotten you!"
