Budapest fans will recognize many locations in this accurately staged historical thriller, with which director Éva Gárdos pays a narrative and stylistic homage to the American film Noir of the 1940s and 1950s. With colour and a slightly modernised gender ratio, it gives the foundation of style a fresh touch. The result is an exciting film, which reflects his time and his genre in a very pointed way.
