On a hot summer day in Beirut, Toni gets into a heated argument with Yasser about an illegally installed drain pipe on Toni's balcony. Toni is a mechanic, Christian and Lebanese by birth. Yasser is a construction foreman and a Palestinian refugee. In the heat of the moment, Yasser lets himself be carried away by an insult that changes everything. When Toni, arrogant and hotheaded, rejects Yasser's half-hearted apology and insults him instead, the argument escalates and ends up in court.
